wrap around case packer

Resolve wrap around case packer interfaces before a factory is selected. Blank drawings, magazine height, side loading and flap control must be owned on paper. This page is a procurement dossier, not an engineering stamp or a compliance certificate.

Project interfaces: Upstream

Submit the flat blank drawing and the product collation as a matched set. Name blank magazine height in millimetres, how blanks are loaded, and whether grouping is complete before the wrap station. Incomplete groups after a failed collation must not enter compression. Confirm three-phase supply (208/230/480 V, 60 Hz or 50 Hz), compressed air for forming in bar or psi, and the infeed work envelope.

Control boundary

Decide who supplies case erection and flap control at loading. On wrap-around machines those functions are often inside the forming and sealing stations rather than a separate erector. The quote must still name compression, hot-melt or tape, and the recovery path when a blank misfeeds. PLC interface points for “blank present” and “group complete” belong in the dossier.

Downstream

Discharge height, sealed-case inspection and the next machine (labeler or palletizer) need a written handshake. SAT should include a controlled interruption and a pack-pattern change, recording leftover product and incorrectly completed cases. Footprint in millimetres or metres must match the plant drawing, including magazine access.

If the project still might use RSC pick-and-place instead of wrap-around forming, keep both routes in the RFQ with separate tooling lists. Mixing them into one “case packer” price hides blank-magazine and compression costs that only one architecture requires.
